Thomas Cathcart Archer was born at Invermay on 30 Nov 1862, the eldest of seven children of Thomas Chalmers Archer JP (1840-1890) and his wife Louisa Kate Cathcart (1840-1908) of ‘Woolmers’, Longford. Thomas Cathcart Archer died aged 71 on 11 Aug 1934 in Melbourne at a private hospital where he had gone for medical treatment and was buried at Christ Church, Longford. His wife Eleanor had died the previous year.
