This is possibly Rose Isabella Brent who won a second award for a chess table top and views painted in Indian ink at the Tasmanian Exhibition in 1891-92. She was born in Hobart in 1851, the fourth daughter of John Brent (c.1811-1870) of ‘Roseneath’, Austin’s Ferry, and his wife Sarah Ann (1822-1891), the daughter of Thomas Axford of ‘Thorpe’, Bothwell. Rose had 12 brothers and sisters. In 1903 she was living at the Parkview Boarding Establishment at 5 Brisbane St, Launceston. Rose died on 3 Oct 1935 at her residence, 4 Augusta Road, New Town. Her funeral service was held at St Paul’s Church, Glenorchy.
