Rolfe Grace Heald was the third child of Henry Heald and his wife Andrewina Morison. She was born in Launceston. Grace’s unusual first name was believed to have come from being named after a sea captain. Grace was educated at Sacred Heart School, Launceston. She was, according to reports, a gifted musician and tailoress, following in the family tradition. Rolfe Grace Heald married Alfred Doolan in Launceston. Grace won a putting championship at the age of 76 and was playing croquet up until death on 3 May 1958. See The Examiner 24 Jun 2006 p. 41.
