Lyla Blanche Hunt was the eldest child of William Holman Hunt (1847-1906) and his wife Emma Sarah Charlotte Fitzgerald, formerly Dean (1844-1910). Born on 4 Mar 1868, Lyla married Alfred Emanuel Hopkins in Launceston on 13 Feb 1896. A daughter Ina Lyell was born in Launceston in 1902. By 1903 Alfred and Lyla were living at Queenstown, where Alfred worked as an estate agent. Their names last appear on the electoral roll for Queenstown in 1909 and they may have subsequently left the state. See The Examiner 2 Sep 2006, p. 35.
