Keith Roland Ritchie was born on 13 Jun 1868, the sixth of 10 children born to David Ritchie and his wife Mary Amelia Anstice of ‘Scone Mills’, Perth. Keith was the Launceston manager of the London & Lancashire Insurance Co. Ltd for more than 40 years, retiring before World War II. He was one of the early secretaries of the Launceston Fire Brigade Board and held the position for about 40 years. He was Chairman of Directors of the Cornwall Coal Co. until his death. In his youth Keith was a keen rower and later in life took up angling. On 19 Jan 1898 Keith married Margaret Hannah Fitzpatrick at Launceston. They had two daughters: Jean on 26 Jan 1901 and Lois on 28 Jul 1910. Keith died at his residence 7A Bifrons Court, Launceston, on 21 May 1958 aged 90. He was cremated and his remains were interred at the Carr Villa Cemetery.
