Helena Jane Monds was the third daughter of Thomas Wilkes Monds (1829-1916) and his wife Angelina Hall (1830-1905). Helena was born in Launceston on 27 Jul 1860. She married George Samuel Lloyd on 6 Apr 1892 at Christ Church, Frederick Street, in a double ceremony with her sister Ada.

Helena’s youngest sister Amy Flora was born on 4 Aug 1870 and married Edwin Ife Lloyd on 28 Jan 1904, also at Christ Church.

Helena and George had two children. George Francis, born in Kilmore, Victoria in 1895, died in France on 3 Feb 1917 during the First World War. Dorothy Helena, was born in Warragul, Victoria, in 1900.

Helena Jane Lloyd died on 20 Jan 1919 in Caulfied, Victoria. Her husband was a Methodist minister. She owned property in Tasmania, apparently from her father’s estate.
