George Malouf, a confectioner, was born at Mount Lebanon (in modern day Lebanon) in the Empire of Turkey (Ottoman Empire). He arrived in Launceston on 15 Dec 1886 aboard the Flinders and was naturalised in 1892. He manfactured confectionery at the Tasmanian Exhibition. He was not on the 1903 Electoral Roll for Tasmania so he probably had left the state by then.
