Emily Bateman was the eldest child of Thomas and Jane Bateman. She was christened 4 Nov 1866 in Manchester, England. She arrived in Australia with her family on the Iberia in May 1884 aged 18. Emily did not marry and lived with her parents. She had left Tasmania by 1904. Emily’s parents and three siblings also appear in the Album. See The Examiner 15 Oct 2005, p. 30.
