Notes:

Donald Nicholson, son of Donald Nicholson and Jane Wetherell, was born in Liverpool, England, on 6 Jun 1834. Donald married Elizabeth Ann Medhurst on 6 Aug 1856 and it is believed that they had four sons and a daughter. Elizabeth died in December 1865.

On 7 Oct 1868 Donald married Euphemia Scott Gibb in Aberdeen, Scotland. Children of the second marriage were: Charles Leigh Clare, born in 1872; Angus Gordon 1874; George Gibb 1875 and Lily Euphemia Eveline 1878.

In 1883 the family left Scotland on the clipper ship Loch Katrine, arriving in Melbourne in Feb 1884. Donald worked as a bank manager in Launceston and later in Queenstown.

Donald’s wife Euphemia died in Queenstown in 1915. Donald died on 24 May 1924 at Hunter’s Hill in Sydney.
