Mrs Charlotte Locklina Youl was born on 8 Jul 1843 in the Brighton district, Tasmania, the eleventh of 15 children of Francis Flexmore (1801-1874) and his wife Charlotte Peters (1807-1869). Charlotte Flexmore married Charles Youl at St George’s Church, Hanover Square, London, on 20 Nov 1872. The couple returned to their property ‘Symmons Plains’, Tasmania, where their three children were born: Mabel, 15 Sep 1873; Lina, 28 Jun 1875; and Charles, 23 Jun 1878. Charlotte died on 1 Aug 1928 in Hobart and was buried at Cornelian Bay.
