This is possibly Charles Bourke, born about 1860 in Launceston to John Bourke (1799-1865) and his wife Mary McKew (1826-1904). He had two older brothers, Thomas and Henry, and two sisters, Mary and Elizabeth. Mary is also pictured in the Family Album.

Charles was a draper, possibly in business with his brother Thomas who dealt mainly in gentlemen’s clothing. He was a member of the Church of Apostles congregation. Charles died aged 54 on 29 May 1914 and was buried at Carr Villa in Section A 50 next to his sister Mary. There is a large stained-glass memorial window above the organ gallery dedicated to Charles and his siblings at the Church of Apostles.
