Annette Frances Wigan was born on 28 Sep 1865, the eldest child of Arthur Wigan (1820-1872) and his wife Lydia Douglas (1840-1907) of Wesley Dale, Chudleigh. On 9 Feb 1891, Annette married Alfred Youl MHA, who was born at ‘Symmonds Plains’ in 1849. His first wife Margaret Mansell had died in 1888, leaving seven children. Annette and Alfred resided at their property ‘Leighlands’, Perth. Alfred died 3 Feb 1921. Annette died aged 72 on 6 Sep 1937, and was buried with her husband at St Andrew’s Anglican Cemetery, Perth. This portrait was named as A Wigan (Mrs A Youl). Annette’s sister Gertrude Warren and brother Osmond are also in the Family Album.
