Mrs Anne McKinlay, nee Colville, was born about 1852 in Northumbria, England. She married Gilbert Tennent McKinlay in Victoria in 1874. Gilbert was a partner in the firm McKay, Sampson & McKinlay, drapers of ‘Waterloo House’, Brisbane Street, Launceston. The couple had three children in Launceston. George Colville was born on 14 Apr 1875 and Ella 29 Apr 1878. The youngest, Tennent Lawson, was born on 8 Jul 1883 but died on 21 Oct 1883. Annie died aged 52 on 27 Oct 1904 at her residence, 23 Elizabeth Street. She was buried in the Scotch Cemetery, High Street, Launceston. Her husband Gilbert and children George and Ella are also in the Launceston Family Album.
